Dear members, 

The 30th European Symposium on Urogenital Radiology was held on September 19-22, 2024, in Lisbon, Portugal, under the presidency of Dr. José Venâncio and Dr. Teresa Margarida Cunha. The main theme of ESUR 2024 was Urogenital Radiology and Oncology: Where are we and where are we going.

The symposium was very stimulating, well-organized and was attended by 662 attendees from 27 countries. The success of the symposium hinged on the harmonious combination of interactive activities, a wonderful venue, and seamless technical execution, creating an enriching and memorable experience for the attendees.   
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Members' Dinner was held at the Zambeze restaurant, located in the historic center of Lisbon, on Thursday, September 19, 2024. ESUR members enjoyed tasting the local cuisine, infused with the intense flavors of Mozambique, while taking in a superb view of Downtown Lisbon and the Tagus River.

The Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception were held in the foyer of the Altis Grand Hotel on Friday, September 20, 2024. A music event took place during the Welcome Reception, aiming to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of one of Portugal's most iconic and traditional instruments – the Portuguese guitar. The Portuguese guitar is a unique and beautiful instrument, especially with its rich history in Fado music. Bruno Costa’s and Nuno Botelho’s performances provided a musical journey through the rich tapestry of Portuguese culture, evoking a deep connection to the country's soul with every note.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Junior Members' Dinner took place at the SOHO restaurant, located in Lisbon’s trendiest area, on Friday, September 20, 2024.

The Gala Dinner was held at the Monte Mar restaurant in Cais do Sodré, offering a wonderful view of the Tagus River, on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The ESUR Prostate MRI examination was organized for the first time during the ESUR Symposium in Lisbon, Portugal, on September 19, 2024.  Eleven candidates received the “European Certification in Prostate MRI”, endorsed by European Society of Radiology: Jonathan Alejandro Hernández Mancera (Spain), Ana Sofia L. Moreira (Portugal), Evelyn Dappa (Germany), Anthony Levy (South Africa), Valentina Terjajeva (Estonia), Marina Astapova (Estonia), Theo Raudsepp (Estonia), Siu Chun Wong (Hong Kong), Praveen Kumar (United Kingdom), Miguel Correia Da Silva (Portugal), Michal Standara (Czech Republic).

The second edition of the ESUR Prostate MRI examination took place during ECR 2025 in Vienna, Austria, on Saturday, March 1.

The next Prostate MRI examination will take place during ESUR 2025 in Stockholm, Sweden, on Thursday, September 25.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The European Diploma in Urogenital Radiology (EDiUR) examination was organized on the occasion of the ESUR symposium 2024, on September 19, in Lisbon, Portugal. 
Five candidates obtained the Urogenital Radiology Diploma: Andreas Hoetker (Germany), Ana Sofia L. Moreira (Portugal), Evelyn Dappa (Germany), Miguel Correia Da Silva (Portugal), Martin Gartenschälger (Germany).

The next EDiUR examination will take place during ESUR 2025 in Stockholm, Sweden, on Thursday, September 25, 09.00h-13.00h.
